|Question: WHICH COMES FIRST ON THE MIX DOWN: REVERB, COMPRESSION, EQ, DELAY?
|LaDream Records's response:|
Typically in audio engineering compression comes first, second equalization, thirdly delay and last but not least we add reverb.
Compress the audio first to stabilize the entire audio waveform
Equalize the audio second to rebuild it harmonically with its proper frequencies and bandwidth.
With compression and equalization its best to place these two dynamic processors on the individual tracks as inserts. Unlike delay and reverb which we use via a bus or a aux send.
