To Record and Upload your music you need a Microphone and a Sound Recording Software

1. Microphone
If you don’t have a microphone you can find several on ebay.

You can also purchase a microphone at your local Best Buys, Circuit City, Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.

2. Sound Recording Software
Sound Recording Software allows you to record and save your music through your computer.

You can use any sound recording software you like.  To find sound recording software you can check out the recording softwares listed in Google ads on left hand side of this page

You can also use Audacity Sound Recorder (See instructions for downloading Audacity Sound Recorder below) A totally Free sound recorder with a lot of the features.  Also, easy to use once the Lame MP3 encoder is downloaded.

Instructions for downloading and using Audacity Sound Recorder

Step 1.  Download Audacity Sound Recorder-

For Windows users click here:

For Mac users click:

For Unix/Linux users click:

Step 2.  Record your music.  Open up the Audacity Sound Recorder and Click on the red record button when you are ready to start recording.

That's it!  Now that you have your live recordings it's time to get your music uploaded to our web site.  Remember your music has to be uploaded in MP3 format.

Step 3.  Download the LAME MP3 encoder.  You only have to do this once.

Go to http://mitiok.free.fr/ and download the LAME encoder, unzip the lame-3.96 folder (usually by double-clicking on it), and then find the lame_enc.dll file.  The lame_enc.dll file is is what Audacity uses to convert audio files to the MP3 format.  See picture below:

Save this file in a place where you can easily find it.   (Ex. C:\\My Documents\Desktop\lame.)  The Desktop is the easiest place to find this file when Audacity asks for it. But, if after downloading, you can’t find it, do a search (Start, Programs, Search) and put in the word "lame".

Step 4. After recording, you must convert it to MP3 format. To do this simply click on "File", then "Export as MP3".
Note: Don't forget what you named this file and where you saved (exported) it.

Note: When you see this message box below click 'yes'. That's it!
